I picked up this frame and stained and added polyurethane to it and it came out absolutely wonderful. The only thing I would suggest is if you finish it yourself, wet sand the final product so the finished wood is smooth otherwise you may find yourself brushing up against a kind of sandpapery headboard. Other than my own lessons learned in trying to do a quick finish, it was well-made, easy to put together, nice and sturdy and very attractive. Well recommended.

Directions could have been better (especially diagrams) but I’m a technical writer so I’m fussy that way. It went together nicely nonetheless–I needed an extra pair of hands only briefly. For a really nice finish you’ll need to devote some time to sanding, but it was OK as it came out of the box. Be sure to hang onto the big Allen wrench so you can tighten up the bolts when it starts to squeak after a couple of months. Overall, it’s a good looking piece for the money. Packaging and delivery were all good.

I bought this so I could have a project to do with my four year-old son. My wife and I had just bought a home, and I was returning from a deployment in Iraq. I wanted something fun and meaningful to do with him, and this was definitely it. My son had a blast staining the frame with me, and the wood is constructed of very durable material. This bed will last him quite some time. Additionally, the memory foam bed I bought for him rests very well on the supports.
